520			_aRésuméÉtabli à partir de correspondances conservées par le Service historique de la Défense, cet article porte sur l’établissement de l’autorité militaire du gouvernement provisoire de la république française dans le sud-ouest de la France au cours des mois suivant la Libération en 1944-1945.Au sein de ces régions libérées sans l’intervention de troupes régulières françaises ou alliées, le gouvernement a dû composer avec les instances et les personnalités issues des Forces françaises de l’intérieur. Ce propos est développé au sujet des nouvelles régions militaires, établies sur les mêmes ressorts que les commissariats régionaux de la république, et de la constitution d’un commandement opérationnel face aux poches allemandes de la pointe de Grave, de Royan et de La Rochelle.
520			_aBased on material in the archives of the historical department of the Ministry of Defence, this article analyses the way the Provisional government of the French republic established its military authority in the south-west of France in the months following the Liberation in 1944-1945. The government had to engage with the local authorities emanating from the Resistance, especially the French Forces of the Interior. This analysis focuses on the creation of new military districts and the appointment of a command to assigned to the siege of the German garrisons entrenched on both sides of the Gironde and around La Rochelle.
