520 | _aThis text puts forth the analysis of the “magic thought” of the “Rat Man,” of President Schreber. It uses the clinical accounts of a manic-depressive patient to compare his way of being to that of the obsessional. It does this through the expression of one of his thoughts so as to finally inscribe these pathological productions in the failures linked to the analysis of transference. It becomes apparent that the magic thought as pathological expression can be underpinned by the drive to life. In this, not only does it make itself the corresponding ontological infantile megalomania of the prescientific period, but it allows for the inscription of the speaking subject in their singular path in spite of their pathology. | ||
