520 _aAdolescence is a time of identity upheaval. This period is much more complex for teenagers who have faced numerous difficulties during their childhood, for example if they have been exposed to early relational trauma or have a “traumatophilic” family history. These teenagers’ explosive problems are difficult for child welfare services to deal with, and their lack of adjustment to their problematic situations makes it impossible for them to settle into their care placements.Using an example of the care of a teenage convert to radical Islam who was taken into care and then sent to prison, I attempt to show the processes at work in this individual’s journey, and also formulate clinical proposals for her care, according particular importance to affective bonds: intra-family and intra-inter-professionals links.
