520 _aFor some twenty years the area of child protection has undergone profound transformation, which has justified the recent intervention of the legislator to reform the established system. Among the measures accepted are diversification of ways of caring for, and fostering new relations between professionals and families. Here we discuss an the evaluations carried out during 2007 in an innovative institution, The Children’s Hill, situated in the 17th quarter of Paris, whose creation dates to over fifteen years ago. After a rapid review of the methods of data collection and analysis, we look at the organization’s characteristics and the particular features of educational and social support put into practice. Then, we attempt to isolate elements enabling assessment of the relevance of that practice, taking into account its limitations.
