520 _aWorking with families in an institutional context implies taking into account different levels of a group-to-group encounter. Due to processes of externalization of destabilised families, the structures and institutional topographies become containers for archaic family contents that may also be combined with those of the institution. The elaboration of these contents involves reorienting them towards adequate structures, provided that the latter are sufficiently differentiated to activate a centripetal movement that can be identified by the teams. This work of elaboration by professionals implies that they can preserve their clinical position, with the support of both their colleagues and the institution, and that they benefit from spaces of withdrawal where they can deposit complex feelings pending mentalization.
