520 _aThis paper outlines a history of Moroccan immigrant media in France. Its purpose is to deconstruct the prejudices that claim both the non-existence of Moroccan immigrant media and its status as “new” with the onset of digital media. By mobilizing both a communicational and an historical approach, the article analyzes the features of the publications launched by these immigrants in the early twentieth century. The study of these discursive productions enables first an examination of immigrant identity and representations of the homeland, and secondly an investigation of their role in political mobilization.
