520 _aThis article considers the authoritarian regime as a vehicle for the construction of collective ignorance. It also examines the role of conservative discourse in the making of ignorance in contemporary Russia. This article describes the measures restricting freedom of speech in Russian public spaces. It highlights the communicative action of state power to ensure that citizens adhere to the conservative ideology, formalized by political opportunism. Finally, this article considers the media as an instrument enabling the widespread circulation of representations of conservatism. The authoritarian regime thus builds collective ignorance by deliberately destroying political pluralism and the possibility of dialogue within society.
