520 _aThis article attempts to provide an overview of the most pressing questions of ignorance studies with regard to epistemology. It intends to show that the problems addressed by this field of study become clearer when they are related to practical domains and uses. To this end, it draws on a pragmatist epistemology, inspired by Peirce and Dewey. With this in mind, this article addresses a twofold question: how can the practical perspective offered by pragmatism shed light on these studies of ignorance? How can the burning questions of ignorance studies help to bring pragmatist epistemology into contemporary debate?
