Loin d’être une barrière, elle est multiple et s’inscrit aujourd’hui comme un symbole de la Chine. Quelques siècles plus tard, le régime chinois reste lui-même en ayant construit pour Internet une autre muraille constituée de cinq dispositifs : contrôle technique, régulation juridique, pressions sociales, entreprises nationales et, enfin, influence à l’international.
