Elle met surtout en évidence le fait que la déconnexion de l’Église catholique et du régime de Franco s’est opérée d’abord à la base – dans les mouvements d’Action catholique spécialisée et le jeune clergé –, puis au niveau de la hiérarchie épiscopale. | ||
| 520 | _aIn both its conciliar and post-conciliar phases, Spanish progressive Catholicism displays certain similarities but above all some differences vis-à-vis related movements elsewhere in Europe. Indeed, the struggle against Franco and for the deconstruction of “national-Catholicism” gave it a specific configuration. This article offers a simultaneously chronological and thematic approach to help conceptualize these similarities and specificities. Above all, it underscores the fact that the Catholic Church’s uncoupling from Franco’s regime began at the grassroots level – in the specialized Catholic Action movements and among younger members of the clergy – before reaching the level of the episcopal hierarchy. | ||
