520			_aRedevenue à la suite de sa réunification un État national « normal », l’Allemagne d’aujourd’hui, démocratique, pacifique et occidentale, a développé ou retrouvé un patriotisme qui, sur bien des points, s’apparente à celui des autres nations. Mais elle n’en oublie pas pour autant son histoire proche. L’assumant avec une rare exigence critique et éthique, elle sait quelles responsabilités en découlent et récuse de ce fait tout ce qui, de près ou de loin, pourrait s’apparenter à une rechute dans le nationalisme.
520			_aHaving become a “normal” nation state once more since reunification, Germany today, democratic, peace-loving and Western, has developed, or rediscovered, a form of patriotism that resembles that of other nations on many points. This does not mean, however, that she has forgotten her recent past. Having come to terms with it, thanks to an uncommon sense of critical and ethical expectation, it is aware of the responsibilities involved and, therefore, challenges anything that, from near or far, could be taken as slipping back into nationalism.
