245 0 0 _aThe Labeling of Products Containing Nanomaterials: A Legal and Political Framework of the Controversy Related to the Development of Nanotechnology
260 _c2016.

520 _aThe labeling of products containing nanomaterials appears, in the discourse of French and European public authorities as well as the claims made by stakeholders, as a way, in the near term, to foster regulation in the development of nanotechnology. We formulate the hypothesis that this solution opportunely responds to very different positions in the nanotechnology controversy, and that it explains, at least partially, its current success. A detour through the theory of frame analysis is necessary to test this hypothesis. This theory provides only partial answers, but it reinvigorates legal analysis of the development of nanomaterials.
