520			_aVingt ans après la professionnalisation, les jeunes Français en général, et ceux que l’armée de terre recrute en particulier, ont une vision de la vie militaire articulée autour de sa finalité combattante, ce qui les différencie de leurs aînés. La concordance paraît plus forte entre la réaffirmation de la spécificité militaire par la communication de l’institution et les attentes de ceux qui revêtent l’uniforme. Cependant, des dissonances continuent d’exister entre un idéal initial très clairement affirmé par les jeunes recrues, des réalités contrastées vécues au sein de l’armée de terre et l’image que les militaires perçoivent d’eux-mêmes dans la société, notamment au travers du traitement médiatique. Au-delà des raisons matérielles qui poussent certains à quitter l’armée de terre alors qu’elle peine à fidéliser ses personnels, l’hypothèse est faite ici qu’entre en jeu également une question de sens vécu et perçu.
520			_aTwenty years after the French army professionalization, the French young adults, and particularly the French young adults recruited in the land army, have a vision hinged on its combatant aim, vision that differentiates them from their elders. The accordance appears stronger between the reassurance of the military specificity due to the communication of the institution, and the expectations of those who enlist. However, some dissonances remain between an ideal strongly affirmed by the young recruits, the lived realities inside the Army, and the soldiers’image of themselves that they perceive in the society, notably through the media handling. Beyond the material reasons that push some of the soldiers to leave the land Army while the institution is experiencing difficulties in retaining troops, this article propose the hypothesis of a differentiation between lived and perceived sense.
