520			_aPour l’édition monumentale de 1660, Corneille se livre à un double geste critique, en faisant précéder d’un Discours chacun des trois volumes qui constituent l’ensemble et d’un Examen chacune des pièces qui composent les volumes. Ce sont là deux modalités d’un discours sur l’œuvre, qui ménagent entre elles des échos, appellent le lecteur à aller de l’un à l’autre, mais possèdent aussi des caractéristiques propres, les Discours fonctionnant comme un vaste hypertexte où vient converger l’ensemble des paratextes cornéliens.

These two forms of discourse, which allow themselves to echo each other, invite the reader to go from one to the other, but also have their own characteristics : the Discours function on the whole like a wide hypertext into which all the Cornelian paratexts converge.
