Celle-ci enrôle de plus la mémoire de l’analyste, qui tel un archéologue relève les traces laissées par l’inconscient de l’analysant dans la texture des séances pour ériger sa construction contre la puissance refoulante de l’oubli.

The psychoanalyst believes that memory traces constitute both the material of conscious psychic life and the tool for its modification, which is accomplished through the work of mourning and the work of the cure. The latter also involves the memory of the analyst, who, like an archaeologist, picks up the traces left by the analysand’s unconscious in the texture of the sessions in order to build his construction against the repressive power of forgetting.
