520			_aCet article s’intéresse à la façon dont de jeunes locuteurs de la banlieue parisienne et leurs formateurs, évoluant dans des centres de formation, construisent ou exploitent en discours des catégories sociolinguistiques et les rendent saillantes et significatives en interaction. Les auteurs montrent, à travers l’analyse fine d’un extrait d’interaction à caractère didactique, comment, dans les échanges, les participants mettent en relief et mettent en scène tout à la fois des différences linguistiques et des différences ethniques ou générationnelles symboliques, parfois même stéréotypées. Le processus de catégorisation à l’œuvre, à des moments précis et situés, tant par rapport à la tâche en cours que par rapport au contexte plus large, a simultanément pour effet de produire des mouvements de rapprochement ou de distanciation des locuteurs par rapport à d’autres et par rapport aux catégories manifestées. Les catégories jeunes et parlers jeunes se manifestent implicitement au fil du discours qui met en scène des personnages et leurs manières de parler.

Questioning the category "youth"This article investigates the ways young trainees from Parisian suburban areas and their adult coaches in formation training centers, use sociolinguistic categories in discourse, and render them salient and significant in the interactional framework. Through a keen analysis of a long didactical interaction, the authors show how, in exchanges, the participants stress symbolic linguistic differences as well as ethnical and generational ones for dramatization. The process of categorization at work at specific moments, with respect both to the didactical task and to the larger context, produces simultaneous movements of convergence or distancing of the speakers relatively to others speakers and relatively to the categories thus appealed. The categories young people and youth languages are conveyed implicitly within the discourse that stages characters and their ways of speaking.
