520			_aÀ la question du rôle des personnes très âgées dans les Instituts apostoliques de vie consacrée, des attentes qu’on place en elles, de leur contribution à la mission évangélisatrice de l’Église, je réponds en évoquant leur croissance en sagesse, leur conscience que l’heure de la Grande Rencontre approche, leur approfondissement de la place d’une culture d’action de grâce dans la maturation humaine, leur sensibilité à l’urgence du pardon, de la miséricorde. Et si je cherche à préciser la contribution des Instituts comme tels à l’évangélisation, c’est spontanément le mot espérance qui jaillit en moi. Avec S. Teresa Maya, je déplie ce terme à l’aide des catégories : Vision, Faire mémoire, Observer, Semer.
520			_aAs regards the question of the role of very old persons in the Apostolic institutes of consecrated life, the expectations placed on them, and their contribution to the evangelizing mission of the Church, I would reply by evoking their growth in wisdom, their awareness that the hour of the Great Encounter is approaching, their deeper sense of the role of a culture of thanksgiving in human maturing, and their sense of the urgency of forgiveness and mercy. And if I seek to specify the contribution of the Institutes as such to evangelization, it is the word hope that wells up within me. With S. Teresa Maya, I break this term down into categories : Vision, Commemoration, Observing, Sowing seeds.
