520			_aPour parler de la situation de la psychanalyse au Brésil, nous avons fait un parallèle entre son histoire et l’histoire du pays. À son arrivée dans les années 20, les psychiatres s’en servaient comme un moyen d’adaptation sociale, tandis que les modernistes cherchaient un retour au passé, en quête d’une identité brésilienne. Le modèle de l’IPA a été prévalent pendant des années, tandis que le mouvement lacanien, initié dans les années 70, était plus indépendant de l’influence européenne : leur rêve était « d’être des enfants de rue, plutôt que des fils de famille ». Sans avoir trouvé vraiment une identité brésilienne, la psychanalyse a été assimilée et transformée au Brésil. Avec le progrès de la Science, elle est exclue de la psychiatrie et oubliée par les artistes, mais elle continue son chemin dans des nombreuses associations et même au niveau de l’université, en dépit de la recherche de solutions rapides offertes par la postmodernité. Son futur est impossible à prévoir, son articulation avec l’histoire du pays a montré qu’elle ne peut pas être dissociée du politique et que son rôle n’est plus exclusivement celui de la cure. C’est aussi celui de préserver le sujet du langage, et donc l’humanité de l’homme.
520			_aFrom Pindorama to Postmodern Brazil : On the Trail of a Brazilian PsychoanalysisTo talk about the situation of psychoanalysis in Brazil, we made a parallel between its story and the history of the country. Upon arrival in the 20s, psychiatrists used it as a means of social adaptation, while the modernists sought a return to the past, looking for a Brazilian identity. The model of the International Psychoanalytical Association was prevalent for years, while the Lacanian movement initiated in the 70s, was more independent of the European influence, their dream was “to be street children, rather than family son”. Without having really found a Brazilian identity, psychoanalysis was assimilated and transformed in Brazil. With the progress of science, it is excluded from psychiatry and forgotten by artists, but continues its way in numerous associations and even at the university level, despite looking for quick solutions offered by post modernity. Its future is impossible to predict, its articulation with the country’s history has shown it can not be divorced from politics and that its role is not exclusively that of the cure. It is also the matter of preserving the language, and therefore the humanity of man.
