Ce dernier réserve en effet une place cruciale à l’expérience esthétique des œuvres, afin d’aller à l’encontre de tout discours philosophique abstrait, idéaliste et universalisant sur l’art. À travers la confrontation des esthétiques de John Dewey et de Theodor W. Adorno, cet article entend clarifier les critères et le contenu d’une expérience esthétique réussie, ainsi que les conditions d’une émancipation par l’art.

Indeed, the German philosopher reserves a crucial place for aesthetic experience, in order to go against any abstract, idealist, and universalizing philosophical discourse on art. By comparing the aesthetics of John Dewey and Theodor W. Adorno, this article intends to clarify the criteria and the content of a successful aesthetic experience, as well as the conditions of emancipation through art.
