Gradually, after passing through a very strong symbiotic phase, Lila begins to construct herself, actively drawing on adjustments in attunement. The author listens to and works on her body-centred countertransference (all of the sensory and emotional feelings experienced in the bond with the patient, which are then reflected upon and retransmitted in another way), – and relies on a continuous sensitive presence over the sessions, in order to initiate and support the processes of symbolisation and the construction of identity.
