Les frontières de la région méditerranéenne se réduisent aux rives maritimes, s’élargissent aux terres intérieures ou s’ouvrent aux interactions avec le reste du monde. Dans ce foisonnement de perceptions, l’œuvre de Fernand Braudel, parfois contestée, n’en reste pas moins un socle, attractif ou répulsif, sur lequel se régénèrent les études autour de la Méditerranée.
520			_aFrom a research perspective, several conceptions of the Mediterranean coexist, depending on the questions studied, of the goals pursued and, quite often, of disciplinary approaches. The frontiers of the Mediterranean can be reduced to the seashores, extended to the inland or opened to interactions with the rest of the world. In this profusion of perceptions, Braudel’s work, although sometime contested, remains a foundation, either attractive or repellent, upon which the studies on the Mediterranean are renewed.
