520			_aL’avènement d’un jeu de suffisamment bonne qualité entre le bébé et ses parents constitue un enjeu majeur pour le développement de l’enfant. L’évolution du jeu du bébé au cours d’une psychothérapie mère-bébé n’a pourtant que très rarement fait l’objet de recherches empiriques et longitudinales. L’objet de cet article est de proposer une revue de la littérature psychanalytique sur le jeu et la symbolisation afin d’identifier des indicateurs du jeu du bébé avec sa mère. Il s’agit d’un travail préalable à une étude longitudinale en cours incluant une dizaine de dyades, bénéficiant d’une psychothérapie. La littérature souligne l’importance de la fonction contenante et symbolisante (rêverie) de l’environnement qui permettra au jeu du bébé de progressivement devenir un lieu de transformation psychique, peu entravé par les procédés défensifs, qui ouvrira vers la symbolisation, la capacité de penser, rêver et créer.
520			_aSufficiently good quality of play between baby and parents constitutes a major foundation for the development of the child. The evolution of infant play, during mother-infant psychotherapy, has however only rarely been the subject of empirical and longitudinal research. The purpose of this article is to provide a review of the psychoanalytic literature on play and symbolization, to identify indicators of the baby’s play with the mother. The literature review forms one basis for an ongoing longitudinal study including ten dyads of psychotherapy. The review underlines the importance of the containing and symbolizing function (reverie) of the environment. These functions will allow the baby’s play to gradually become a place of psychic transformation and not to hampered by defensive processes, opening towards symbolization, the ability to think, dream and create.
