Dans cette dynamique, l’appel lancé s’estompe, la quête identitaire se dilue, la vie psychique se perd...A travers l’exemple de la maladie cancéreuse, les auteurs développent une pratique clinique « du bord » pour laisser advenir en ces lieux de souffrance un « je » capable de perdurer à travers des capacités qui s’étriquent.
