520			_aLes offices liturgiques composés pour les saints dits « locaux » — par opposition aux saints universels — dont les textes sont largement diffusés dans les recueils, bréviaires et antiphonaires, constituent un domaine parallèle à l’hagiographie, dépendant de cette dernière mais ouvert sur d’autres formes culturelles et artistiques : la liturgie et la musique. Tout comme les textes hagiographiques, les textes de ces offices — pour la plupart encore inédits — peuvent fournir à l’historien des matériaux importants, surtout pour la période carolingienne, cadre exclusif de cet article ; il se dégage un corpus d’offices (Remi, Vaast, Amand, Thierry...) dans lequel est bien illustré un concours croisé du facteur religieux et du facteur politique, favorisé par des centres ecclésiastiques proches du pouvoir royal puis impérial, ce au moment même où, après le concile d’Aix-la-Chapelle de 816-817, la réforme liturgique de l’Occident latin se renforce.
520			_aJean-François GOUDESENNE, Hagiography and Merlovingian Historiography in Liturgical Music in Northern Gaul (VIIIth and XIth centuries). The liturgical offices composed to celebrate the so-called ‘local’ saints — in opposition with the universal saints — and whose texts are widely circulated in the collections, the breviaries and the antiphonaries, constitute an area parallel to hagiography, depending on this latter but open on other cultural and artistic forms; liturgy and music. In the same way as the hagiographic texts, the texts of these offices — most of them still unpublished — may provide the historian with important material, essentially on the carlovingian period, exclusive framework of this paper; there appear a whole corpus of offices (Remi, Vaast, Amand, Thierry...) within which is well illustrated a joint concourse of the religious factor and of the political factor, benefiting from ecclesiatical centres close to the royal, and later imperial, power, at the very time when, after the Council of Aix-la-Chapelle of 816-817, the liturgical reform of the Latin West is being reinforced.
520			_aDe kerkdiensten die gecomponeerd werden voor lokale — in tegenstelling tot de universele — heiligen waarvan men de teksten vaak aantreft in verzamelingen, brevieren en antifoonaria, vormen een apart domein in de hagiografie, met een opening naar andere cultuur- en kunstvormen: de liturgie en de muziek. Net als de hagiografische teksten hebben de teksten van deze diensten waarvan er slechts een paar uitgegeven zijn, heel wat stof te bieden aan de historicus, vooral wat de Karolingische periode — onderwerp van dit artikel — betreft. Men kan het bestaan van een corpus vaststellen (over Remi, Vaast, Amandus, Thierry enz.) waarin religieuze en politieke factoren voorkomen. Hij is het werk van kerkelijke centra die dicht bij de koninklijke, daarna keizerlijke macht stonden, op het ogenblik waarop, na het concilie van Aken in 816-817, de liturgische hervorming van het Latijnse westen versterkt werd.
