| 520 | _aRésuméLes chartes constituent une des sources les plus importantes de l’histoire médiévale. Mais leur nombre et leur dispersion constituent un obstable à leur utilisation par les historiens. Pourtant, depuis des siècles, un gros effort d’édition a été entrepris : il s’agit d’abord de faire le point sur cet effort, d’en retracer les modalités et les étapes, de dresser un inventaire des publications de chartes pour la région du Nord/Pas-de-Calais. Mais il s’agit aussi de mettre au point des projets : l’édition scientifique de l’ensemble des fonds encore inédits représente un travail considérable, dont l’achèvement ne peut être imaginé à court terme. La mise au point d’une transcription des actes inédits et l’insertion de cette transcription dans une base de données constitue, en attendant l’édition scientifique, une première étape pour en faciliter l’accès. | ||
| 520 | _aPublishing Charters in Nord/Pas-de-CalaisCharters constitute one of the richest sources for the history of the Middle-Ages. But their number and the fact that they are scattered in so many different places are an obstacle to they use by historians. Yet, for centuries, a major publishing effort has been carried out : this paper will attempt first to draw provisional conclusions on how this effort is faring, to describe what its various modalities were and the stages it followed, to make an inventory of the charters that were published in the Nord/Pas-de-Calais region. But its aim is also to initiate and develop new projects : the scientific edition of the totality of the still unpublished fund is a huge work, whose completion cannot be imagined within a short span of time. The development of a transcription of the unpublished acts and the insertion of these transcription into a data base constitutes, before a scientific edition can be carried out, a first stage to make these documents more easily accessible. | ||
