In part I, a survey of the existing literature allows, by contrast, to define the still unexplored zones of these two authors’ personal and scientific relationships. Part II offers a broad canvas of the various stages of this strange and erratic collaboration over a little more than a decade (1887-1899). These first two parts also provide an illustration of the techniques used by Walras to build his scientific network.
