Le présent article se concentre sur l’article de Diamond et Dybvig de 1983 consacré à la fragilité bancaire dont l’importance s’avère avec le recul du temps considérable, tant sur le plan de la réflexion scientifique que sur le plan des politiques publiques en matière de réglementations bancaire et financière. L’originalité de la modélisation qui y est développée et des propositions qui en découlent a conduit à des contributions ultérieures nombreuses et soulevé des problèmes importants dont le présent article rend compte. La fécondité de la contribution de 1983 montre le bien-fondé du choix des lauréats du prix 20221. | ||

This article focuses on the 1983 contribution of Diamond et Dybvig which deals with banking fragility and bank runs. The importance of the matter is growing with time, for both academics and policymakers. The originality of the modelling and of the solutions to the problem offered in this contribution lead to many ulterior contributions and raised important issues which are covered in this article. The fecondity of the 1983 contribution proves that the choice of the laureates for the 2022 Nobel prize in economics is justified. | ||
