520			_aRésuméCet article examine la relation entre santé et croissance à la lumière de la théorie moderne de la croissance endogène. Nous proposons un cadre théorique unifié incluant deux facteurs de la croissance : l’accumulation et le niveau de la santé. Sur la base de régressions inter-pays dans lesquelles nous instrumentons les deux variables, nous mettons en évidence un effet positif et significatif du niveau initial et de l’augmentation de l’espérance de vie sur la croissance du PIB par habitant.
520			_aThe benefits of health: an insight from endogenous growth theoryThis paper revisits the relationship between health and growth in light of modern endogenous growth theory. We propose a unified framework that encompasses the growth effects of both, the accumulation and the level of health. Based on cross-country regressions where we instrument for both variables, we find that a higher initial level and a higher rate of improvement in life expectancy both have a significantly positive impact on per capita GDP growth.
