La transposition d’éléments inconscients sur ces perceptions sensorielles soutient une inhibition quant au but des motions pulsionnelles et une orientation progrédiente des investissements, mais sans renoncement. Elle fonde ainsi le transitionnel qui permet au désir inconscient de s’inscrire en tant qu’inspiration qui, reprise par la sublimation, aboutit à la création d’une nouvelle réalité faisant désormais partie du monde.

The transposition of unconscious elements onto these sensory perceptions supports an inhibition with respect to the aim of the drive impulses and a progressive orientation of cathexes, but without renunciation. It is thus the basis for the transitional, allowing unconscious desire to function as inspiration which, when taken up by sublimation, results in the creation of a new reality that is henceforth part of the world.

Sie begründet damit das Übergangsgeschehen, das es dem unbewussten Wunsch ermöglicht, sich als Inspiration einzuschreiben, die –von der Sublimation übernommen- zur Erschaffung einer neuen Realität führt, die von nun an der Welt angehört.
