520			_aRÉSUMÉ Au début du XVIe siècle, Loys Boulengier publie une description géographique sommaire de la France. S’appuyant sur les résultats de ses relevés, l’auteur propose au roi une nouvelle façon de répartir l’impôt et les taxes. Elle est plus équitable et bénéficie largement au souverain. Bien que n’étant pas suivie d’effet, cette proposition originale s’insère dans un climat de réforme et dans l’élan de réflexion qui se poursuit chez les grands penseurs politiques de la fin du siècle et des siècles suivants. Loin de s’arrêter à ce travail naissant d’économie politique, Loys Boulengier s’illustre dans le domaine de l’édition, de la cartographie et de l’astronomie. Ouvert sur l’Europe scientifique, il offre plus largement l’image d’un humaniste provincial cherchant une reconnaissance et une renommée qu’il ne connut pas.

Following his research, the author proposed a taxe reform to the King which was much more equitable and which also greatly benefited the Kind himself.
