As a Jewish lawyer excluded from the Bar by the Vichy laws, he joined the judiciary after the Liberation, and supported the prosecution in several iconic trials, including that of the judges who made up the Special Section of Paris Court of Appeals. As first advocate general at the Court of Cassation, he has always supported a demanding conception of the role of the public prosecutor’s office, exercising his freedom of speech conscientiously at hearings. | ||
