520			_aL’abolition universelle de la peine de mort est inéluctable. Pour parvenir à cet objectif, il reste néanmoins des défis à relever : poursuivre l’abolition dans les démocraties, consolider l’engagement international, interdire un retour en arrière et soutenir le continent africain dans cette démarche. Il faudra aussi franchir des obstacles tels que l’application stricte de la charia dans les pays islamistes intégristes et l’utilisation de la peine de mort comme instrument de terreur.
