Mais le concept d’objet bizarre a été décrit par Bion, issu d’une haine profonde de la réalité. À la même période, Winnicott s’est aussi penché sur celle-ci, et a élaboré la notion d’ego-alien ou de moi-autre associé au surgissement brutal d’un élément inconscient détruisant le moi. À leur origine existe une pulsion d’emprise d’un Autre terrifiant dans l’inconscient. Les travaux de Guy Rosolato autour des signifiants de démarcation rejoignent les recherches de Bion et de Winnicott.
