| 520 | _aCet article porte sur l’utilisation du serment dans la reconstruction politique de Lucques à la fin du XIVe siècle. Nous voudrions en effet partir du contexte de reconstruction que connaît Lucques à partir de 1369, date de la fin de la domination exercée sur elle par sa voisine pisane et de la redécouverte de son autonomie politique après près d’un demi-siècle de tutelle étrangère, pour nous interroger sur la place que jouent les serments dans la vie politique communale. Nous aimerions en particulier nous intéresser à la façon dont ils sont utilisés par les autorités pour consolider la cohésion de la communauté urbaine et pour intégrer les différents territoires urbains entre eux. Il s’agirait donc d’observer le rôle politique du serment sur un plan à la fois général, en analysant son rôle dans la reconstruction d’une communauté politique urbaine, et particulier, en évaluant son importance dans les trajectoires personnelles de ceux qui les prononcent. | ||
| 520 | _aThe oath: an instrument serving the political reconstruction of Lucca in the late 14th century This paper deals with the use of the oath in the political reconstruction of Lucca in the late 14th century. In this article, I endeavour to use the context of reconstruction that Lucca underwent beginning in 1369, date of the end of neighbouring Pisa’s domination, and the rediscovery of its political autonomy after a half-century of foreign control, as the starting-point for investigating the role played by oaths in the city’s political life. In particular, I intend to focus on how oaths were used by authorities to consolidate the cohesion of the urban community and bring together various urban areas. Thus, the objective will be to focus on the political role of the oath both generally, by analysing its role in rebuilding an urban political community, and individually, by assessing its importance for the personal trajectories of those that took the oath. | ||
