| 520 | _aRésuméDans la conscience claire de positions métaphysiquement irréductibles qu’ils héritent d’ailleurs de l’histoire, André Comte-Sponville et Luc Ferry n’en éprouvent pas moins le désir commun d’un style renouvelé de philosopher : en quête partagée de sagesse pratique – ou de « spiritualité laïque » – plus que de souveraineté théorique. Cette idée ou ce projet donne lieu à deux schématisations contrastées : retour apaisé de l’esprit à la réalité englobante du monde de la vie ou élargissement sensé de la liberté aux valeurs transcendantes de l’humain. On tente ici de prolonger ce débat en l’ouvrant au sens critique d’une Altérité absolue dont témoigne notamment la tradition abrahamique et qui pourrait encore inspirer notre recherche raisonnable de sagesse. | ||
| 520 | _aAlthough they are clearly conscious of holding metaphysically irreducible positions which they have inherited from the past, André Comte-Sponville and Luc Ferry nevertheless share a common desire to do philosophy in a new way: they both seek practical wisdom – or ‘secular spirituality’ – rather than theoretical mastery. This idea or project gives rise to two different schematisations: on the one hand, a pacified return on the part of the spirit to the encompassing reality of the life-world, on the other, a judicious expanding of freedom to embrace transcendental human values. The present article attempts to extend this debate by opening it up to a critical awareness of an absolute Other, to which in particular the Abrahamic tradition points, which could once again kindle the quest of human reason for wisdom. | ||
