520			_aLe premier problème des discours sur l’expérience religieuse est l’absence de clarification de ce qu’on entend par religieux ou religion. Ce n’est pourtant qu’à partir de là qu’on pourra s’interroger sur la nature « religieuse » du christianisme et de l’expérience chrétienne et sur leur rapport à la postmodernité et à la métaphysique, comme le fait Gianni Vattimo. L’expérience chrétienne apparaît alors comme une forme particulière de l’expérience fondamentale dans laquelle on fait l’épreuve de soi et de la facticité, dans l’événement d’une donation de soi et du monde, éventuellement de l’être et de Dieu. La question de la nomination de l’expérience se révèle simple interprétation, mais dont le caractère d’interprétation demeure indépassable si l’on veut être fidèle à l’événement comme tel et à la fracture de la présence qu’il manifeste.

However, this is the only starting point for putting the question about the “religious” nature of Christianity and Christian experience and their relationship to postmodernity and metaphysics, as does Gianni Vattimo. Christian experience then appears as a particular form of fundamental experience in which one puts to the test one’s self and one’s facticity in the event of a giving of oneself and of the world, and maybe of a giving of being and of God. The question of the naming of experience is a simple interpretation, but its character of interpretation remains unsurpassable if one wants to be faithful to the event as such and to the fracture of the presence it manifests.
