520			_aRésumé À l’occasion du vote de la loi sur les associations du 1er juillet 1901, plusieurs milliers de femmes du monde, nobles et bourgeoises, organisent leur protestation sous la forme d’une ligue féminine. L’initiative est prise à Lyon en 1901 avec la Ligue des femmes françaises, d’inspiration monarchiste, puis imitée à Paris en 1902 avec la Ligue patriotique des Françaises, proche des catholiques ralliés. Les deux ligues qui constituent un espace de mobilisation politique, vont respectivement évoluer vers une œuvre spirituelle et une organisation sociale. Cependant, elles auront été un lieu important de politisation et d’apprentissage de la citoyenneté pour une partie significative des élites du « catholicisme féminin ».
520			_aAt the time of the vote on the association law of July 1, 1901, several thousands of women, nobility and bourgeois, organized their protest under the banners of a feminine league. First, the League of French Women, a monarchist-inspired group, in Lyons in 1901, then in Paris in 1902 with the Patriotic League of French Women, close to the rallied Catholics. The two leagues began as a political mobilization but then shifted, respectively, towards a spiritual and a social organization. They nevertheless were important for training in politicization and citizenship for an important part of the “feminine Catholic” elites.
