Confrontées aux importants problèmes sociaux de leur époque, elles ont créé un travail social ouvert et communautaire ; elles ont activement contribué aux projets de réforme sociale, à une redéfinition des enjeux sociaux et de leurs solutions ; elles ont été les principales protagonistes du mouvement des femmes dans leur pays, et ont eu un rôle international très important et reconnu.

Faced with the major social problems of their time, they created a form of social community work open to a wide public, made an active contribution to social reform and redefined the terms of the social question.
