Galinier’s article on indigenous Otomi theories from the point of view of psychoanalysis and branching out to include a comparative study of this with Madagascan cultural formations based on direct ethnography. The bonds between what is psychic and what is social, the epistemological status of the myth in its relation to the rite and hypotheses concerning indigenous metapsychology are studied.
