| 520 | _aThe aim of our paper is to trace back the evolution of the verbal constructions dis voir, voyons voir and regarde voir, and, more specifically, to examine the origin of the element voir in each of the three markers. They are part of a paradigm of markers based on a first- or second-person imperative verb combined with the adverb voir: regarde voir, voyons voir, dis voir, but also écoute voir, montre voir, etc. On the basis of a corpus compiled from textual databases (Frantext, Sketch Engine, Gallica and theatreclassique.fr) we propose a distributional and semantic analysis of the three markers. We verify the origin and role played by the adverb voir. We explain the evolution of these three expressions through the lens of constructionalization theory. | ||
