La question se pose de savoir si le psychanalyste s’autorise ou pas à explorer les sources premières de ces conflits : existait-il à l’époque de Freud de telles tensions ? Quelles étaient leur origine, leur nature, leur résolution ? À partir d’une relecture de Contribution à l’histoire du mouvement psychanalytique, nous allons mettre à jour un mythe personnel freudien qui a marqué, semble-t-il, la naissance de la psychanalyse et les futurs rapports politiques entre psychanalystes.

The question arises as to whether or not psychoanalysts are entitled to explore the original sources of these conflicts: Did such tensions exist in Freud’s time? What were their origins, their nature, and their resolution? On the basis of a re-reading of The History of the Psychoanalytic Movement, we will bring to light a Freudian personal myth that seems to have marked the birth of psychoanalysis and future political relations between psychoanalysts.
