520			_aThis article examines the logic and conditions of renewal of a union collective in a public psychiatric hospital. While the activists are aging, they must ensure the continuity of the organization. This challenge is all the more difficult as new union members are less inclined to adopt the agonistic practices valued locally, preferring to base their commitment on immediate work issues in a context of rationalization of staff and resources. Finally, the article shows how the effects of hospital restructurings combine with differentiated political and militant socializations, which result in gaps within the collective. Faced with these difficulties, the leaders consider the debate on the evolution of work and the defence of a “human” psychiatry as a way of attracting staff and of making union action more dynamic.
520			_aCet article interroge les logiques et les conditions du renouvellement d’un collectif syndical dans un hôpital psychiatrique public. Alors que les cadres syndicaux sont dans leur majorité vieillissants, ils doivent s’assurer de la continuité militante. Ce défi est d’autant plus difficile que les nouveaux syndiqués sont moins enclins à s’approprier les pratiques agonistiques et politisées valorisées localement, préférant fonder leur engagement sur les enjeux immédiats du travail dans un contexte de rationalisation des effectifs et des moyens. Finalement, l’article montre comment les effets des restructurations hospitalières se conjuguent à des socialisations politiques et militantes différenciées pour conduire à des décalages au sein du collectif quant aux finalités de l’engagement syndical. Face à ces difficultés, les dirigeants du syndicat envisagent la mise en débat des évolutions du travail et la défense d’une psychiatrie « humaine » comme moyens d’attirer les personnels et de dynamiser l’action syndicale.
