Conseiller du tsar, protecteur indirect du Piémont, c’est encore lui qu’Alexandre Ier envoie auprès du pape Léon XII en 1825, négocier une réunification des Églises d’Orient et d’Occident. L’étude de sa vie nous place dans les pas d’un héros national, devenu héros de roman.
520			_aAs an engineer and Sardinian Army officer in the service of Tsar Alexander I, Alexandre Michaud was a complex historical actor in his function as a strategist in the Russian campaign and informal diplomat in the Congress period. As adviser of the Tsar, and indirect protector of Piedmont, it was Michaud who Alexander I sent to pope Leo XII in 1825 in order to negotiate a reunification of the Eastern and Western Churches. Thus, the study of his life allows the tracking of the life of a national hero who eventually became ahero of novels.
