It shows how, for the first time, the city had the opportunity to confront the genre of the royal entrance. The use a European artistic language was intended to favour a rapprochement with France, as the city wanted to intercede on behalf of the queen for a reconciliation with his son Louis XIII. However, unpublished sources found in the diplomatic archives show the unsuccessful reception of this royal entrance, especially from a French perspective.
