The Third Berlusconi Victory

The Third Berlusconi Victory - 2009.
99
The aim of this paper is to consider the Italian general election of 2008. It recalls the electoral system that came into force in 2005, considers the organization of electoral supply, analyzes the results of this election, and proposes a hypothesis in order to explain it. The global outcome of this election was a clear victory of the right-wing coalition, a consolidation of the two main Italian parties (PD and PDL), a major increase in the Northern League vote, a fall for the radical left, and a dramatic simplification of the Italian political landscape overall.
