In child therapies, the setting is formed by the various rules governing the relationships between the child, the parents, and the therapist in order to create the best conditions for helping the child become more autonomous. The therapeutic process of a little girl named Christine, initially deprived in terms of her biological family and later overprotected by a foster mother, shows that in certain cases, these rules cannot be set up unless they are applied with discernment, thanks to the inner presence of the therapist, attentive to the evolution of the child and family.
