This article analyses the influence of Icaromenippus in the celestial journeys of Spanish Golden Age literature. In addition to the translations and adaptations of Lucian’s work, several texts from the 16th and 17th centuries prove to be inspired by this dialogue: from the Crotalón to Locuras de Europa by Saavedra Fajardo, through to Lope de Vega’s La Arcadia, Cervantes’s Quijote, the satires of Leonardo de Argensola or El diablo cojuelo y Vélez de Guevara. In these works, we can find structural parallels, themes and a satirical tone that refer to Lucian’s work.
