The case of Paul raises the question about how far society can and wants to go in supporting its “monsters” and “to what end” this is done. Putting reality to the test of humanism and mankind and its multiple aspects raises questions about our capacity to act and to act skillfully. Are we ready to look our monsters in the eye? Might monstrosity exist in places different from those we commonly believe it does?
