This article presents a research-action realized in a primary school of Lorraine (France) which had the objective of increasing the collaboration between educational team and parents to achieve better adaptation of the children to the school. To restart the reflections of the team and encourage a school/families partnership, the research used a tool developed in Quebec entitled “Bringing families and elementary schools closer together” (Government of Quebec, Ministry of Education, 2004) to combine (1) the responses of educators, obtained during work-sessions on the inventory of their practices collaborating with parents as well as working as well as planning new strategies, and (2) results from a questionnaire completed by parents concerning their points of view, expectations and needs with respect to the school. The article presents the main results and recommendations that emerged.
