| Summary, etc. | The École Nationale de Ski et d’Alpinisme (ENSA, Skiing and Mountaineering National School), French state school dedicated to the training of mountain professionals (guides and ski instructors) is characterized by a test laboratory on mountain equipment and techniques. This flagship of the notoriety and the international image of the school has a singular history. The description of the major phases of the development of this laboratory, since the post-war until today, allows to disentangle the factors and actors which made possible its emergence through the gradual development of a social and technical network.
